Rima Beridze - 13051725_1705083329732275_407714843069239441_nOn April 26-27, Rima Beridze ’11 teamed up with three FLEX alumni to conduct a project on the topics of leadership, public speaking, and volunteering for 15 high school students in Batumi, Georgia. The participants were selected based on their research papers, where they described issues faced by their community and different ways to solve them.

During a leadership training students had a chance to present the outcomes of their research and put forward project ideas in front of jury members representing local NGOs. Afterwards students, the organizers and 30 volunteers put their skills into practice by clearing trash from a nearby public beach, which is visited by over 10,000 people every summer.

The FLEX alumna notes that the best ideas will be implemented with the help of the NGOs in the following months. More photos of the project can be found on the project’s web page and on Facebook.
