“A place for talented young people to work, learn and grow together“

In 2012,  FLEX alumnus from Tajikistan Muminjoniyon Abdulvahhob ’09 becomes a participant at International Summer University (iSUC) Carinthia. iSUC was created seven years ago and this year was 7th edition of the program. The 10-day program is organized annually in the southern region of Austria, Carinthia (Karnten) in the small city Villach situated on the border of Italy and Slovenia. Christian Gigler is the Head of Organization and Reinhard Heinish is the Academic Director from the University of Salzburg. iSUC consists of three different tracks – Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship, Urban Design & Architecture and Destination Management & Tourism. Both the Academic Board of the program and its participants are diverse: people are coming from different backgrounds as well as from different countries, including Russia, Greece, USA, etc.

Abdulvahhobi made new friends, gained new experience by working in diverse community and even met another FLEX Alumna from Ukraine, Yulia Bondarenko ’06. Indeed, FLEXers are everywhere. FLEX alumni meet each other in different corners of this world.

One year later, Abdulvahhob applied for a position on the iSUC’13 organizing team. And he was accepted!  In iSUC’13 he worked as “moderator,” which meant  he started and closed iSUC’13 official ceremonies – welcoming participants and then congratulating new iSUC’13 alumni with successful completion of the program. Every morning he organized the kick-off, uniting participants with different games with the support of other facilitators and organizers. The program is really interesting, says Abdulvahhob, “this year we had participants from more than 21 countries and four continents and our iSUC Alumni family is getting bigger and bigger. During the program we get a chance to experience Austrian hospitality, share our culture and experience another one, visit Italy and Slovenia, have dinner at Ackern (traditional Austrian Summer Festival), visit the most beautiful lakes in the world with iSUC Alumni and more. It’s very great opportunity and I would like to suggest this program to other FLEX Alumni around the world. Remember, the world is small: meet new people, use every opportunity that you get and you will succeed!“

Bests,
