Project Title: Step Towards Success Project Location: Akhatsikhe, Georgia $78 in South Caucasus FLEX-Ability Grant funding
On December 22-28, Tornike Balakhashvili ’15 and Izabela Manchkhashvili ’15 conducted a series of career and media trainings for 45 high school and university students. Izabela held session to teach the students how to compile a successful resume and prepare for a job interview. After working through the sessions, the students compiled their own resumes and responded to tricky interview questions. Next Tornike held sessions on social media safety. Using the knowledge thathe gained at the South Caucasus FLEX-Ability workshop (SCFAW), he explained how to protect
private data, effectively deal with cyber-stalking and cyber-trolling, and which websites and search engines to avoid. All of the project activities took place at the Union of Democrat Meskhs, the USAID office, and the Klde Public School in Akhaltsikhe, organizations that provided no cost venue and equipment.
‘The SCFAW was the start of everything – the trainers taught me how to conduct the project, work with a mixed-age group, and present the material well,’ shares Izabela.
