FLEX alumni relived their exchange year by recreating a beloved American high school tradition, Spirit Week! This past July, in the American Corners in Mary, Dashoguz, and Turkmenabat and at the American Center in Ashgabat, alumni organizers developed Spirit Week events to share the tradition with their peers. Alumni conducted presentations to share their experiences and explain the concept of Spirit Week, encouraging them to take part in the dress-up days. Each day of the week had a particular theme: American Day, Turkmen Day, Twins Day, Wear Red Day, and Sports Day. To promote Spirit Week, alumni created promotional posters and actively dressed up according to themes themselves. As a result, 3891 participants gained an insight into American high school traditions and immersed themselves into the American High School atmosphere. Check out the photos below!
