The StartQube Social Entrepreneurship Workshop aims to prepare participating alumni to take an entrepreneurial approach to addressing social issues and community needs. Participants will explore social entrepreneurship concepts and tools such as identifying a need, creating a business plan, building a customer base, and approaching investors. Trainings will be led by Macedonia-based professional entrepreneurship and startup training team STARTUP ZONE, together with experienced professional mentors.
Mentors will engage workshop participants by sharing best practices, knowledge, and professional expertise with participants. Each mentor will be assigned to lead several workshops relevant to his/her field of expertise, in addition to working closely with a small group of participants on a broader range of material, for which training will be provided. Mentors should be prepared for intensive engagement throughout the duration of the workshop.
Selected mentors will meet with the STARTUP ZONE team virtually prior to the workshop, and are expected to arrive in Krushevo, Macedonia, for on-site training two days prior to the official start of the program, October 10-11. During these meetings and the in-person training, which are mandatory, mentors will be thoroughly prepared for the workshop sessions, structure, expectations, and goals.
Accommodation and travel costs are fully covered by the program. In addition, every selected mentor will receive a symbolic engagement fee of $300 for their role at the workshop.
Interested candidates must complete and submit this online application, including all supporting documents requested, by August 15, 2016, 11:59 PM CET. Mentors will be selected by a panel of evaluators based on application materials, as well as professional background and experience.
