1395168_219227464867829_551191305_nOn September 13-15, in Shcholkine, Ukraine 75 citizens of Ukraine interested in sustainable development together with 10 FLEX alumni took part in the Sustainability Summit II.  The event was a collaborative effort of Greencubator, FLEX alumni, Kyiv Polytechnic University and Kyiv Mohyla Academy volunteers, the Shcholkinelocal administration, and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine. Participants took part in three days of open-air lectures and workshop on sustainable development and building energy efficiency in Ukraine.  The Summit provided its participants with numerous close networking and team building opportunities, and led to project planning in three groups.  Following the closing of the summit, all interested participants and volunteers also visited a solar station in Rodnikovoe as part of an educational element.  Special guests of the event included U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Cultural Affairs Officer Andrew Paul, Director and Chief Editor of cleantechnica.com and planetsave.com Zach Shahan, Program Director Roman Zinchenko, City Mayor Vladimir Shkalaberda, and Crimean Minister of Culture Alyona Plakida.
