In this webinar, expert Austin Shiner will talk about the philosophy of holistic admissions processes and give specific advice with regards to the essays and short writing, list of extracurricular activities, teacher recommendations, and interviewing. He will also make a few comments about the different types of selective institutions in the US and Singapore and encourage students to think first about fit, second about prestige.
Austin Shiner is the Senior Admissions Counselor at Yale-NUS College in Singapore. He graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in history in 2011 and moved to Singapore in September of the same year to build Yale-NUS, a collaboration by the National University of Singapore and Yale to reinvent liberal arts education.
For interested candidates, Yale-NUS has excellent merit scholarships and generous need-based financial aid open to all regardless of citizenship. Austin will also share this information during the online training.
