FLEX alumni living in the D.C. area joined Study Abroad Alumni from the Outbound programs administered by American Councils for a July 9 reunion and networking event featuring award-winning singer songwriter Marina V, Marina Verenikina FLEX ’94 of Springfield, IL/Moscow, Russia. Marina V performed songs from her recent album Inner Superhero at the Happy Hour, which was hosted by American Councils with sponsorship from the casual Italian eatery Vapiano. Seven FLEX alumni attended the event, one of the first in a series of events that will culminate in the celebration of American Councils’ 40th Anniversary in 2014-2015. While socializing with the guests of the event FLEX alumni in the area learned about professional development opportunities in Washington DC, such as the upcoming event on Open Data at the World Bank, organized by FLEX alumna Roza Vasiyleva ’04 (Cannon Falls, MN/St. Petersburg, Russia).
American Councils invites all FLEX alumni to join staff and guests at the 4th Annual Silent Auction & Open House event on Thursday, October 9, held at the Washington, DC office, which will feature an encore performance by Marina V.
