On August 8-12, Nargiza Kanybek kyzy’13 and Asel Matieva’13 visited Talas and its surrounding villages to share information about the FLEX program with local youth and share with them the advantage of community service. The alumni and Peace Corps Volunteer David Malana made presentations about the program and held presentations on health and safety. The alumni also organized dance lessons for the children. Using the twenty-dollar grant with the support of the FLEX $20 Challenge, the alumni were able to receive local support and cost share opportunities to organize this four-day project to share the FLEX program with local youth.
