Yulia Tokareva ’10 led a team of FLEX alumni and representatives of the international student-run organization AIESEC in organizing Kyrgyzstan’s first-ever Tien Shan Model United Nations at the United Nation House in Kyrgyzstan and OSCE Academy April 5-7. Through this conference 90 youth of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan became UN delegates, representing their designated countries, working in committees to address the issue of capital punishment, the conflict in Syria, and the European debt crisis. In the process they developed new skills and understanding and acted for the betterment of the world.
